Bike tour for school groups: the Port of Antwerp

Give your students the chance to experience Europe’s second-largest port up close.

In just 2 hours, we’ll cycle from the city center to the historic port at district Het Eilandje, tracing its story all the way to the Port House, the striking building that marks the transition between the old and modern port. While we won’t enter the modern port, your students will still get a fantastic view of the bustling world of ships, containers, and cranes. Our guides explain how the port operates, its global importance, and what it means for Antwerp and its people.

This tour covers key topics like transportation, urban development, and globalization, making it both educational and engaging for students.

Who is this tour for?

This port tour is ideal for teachers looking for a fun and informative field trip. Do your students love big ships? Are they curious about how a port works? Or are they eager to discover something entirely new? There’s something here for everyone. Even students living in Antwerp will see their city in a new light. It’s a ride packed with fascinating stories and unforgettable views.

A surprising tour through the port: that was the first introduction to Antwerp by Bike. This gave rise to the idea of booking the “classics” for our fifth-year students. It was a success! Exploring the city by bike is also popular among our students, especially when they are treated to the fascinating stories and facts by Ari and his team along the way!

Last school year, your organization provided a bike tour of the Port of Antwerp for about 30 second-year students from Sint-Aloysius College in Menen. We found the 3-hour tour to be a great experience. It was especially interesting to explore deeper into the port and get a closer look at the docks and ships. I’d like to ask if it’s possible to book the tour again this year.
