Private tour: Antwerp’s Classic Highlights
Explore the city’s top sights by bike
Short on time but want to see the best of Antwerp and hear the stories behind it all? Then this tour’s for you.
We kick things off in the historic center and bike past some of the city’s most iconic landmarks, like the Steen Castle, City Hall and the cathedral. Along the way, your guide shares local legends, quirky tales and bits of history. You’ll learn why Brabo threw a hand into the river, how the Central Station earned its nickname “railway cathedral,” and what makes the MAS museum so special.
The tour starts and ends at the same spot, and leaves you with a fresh perspective on the city. Perfect for a first visit to Antwerp!
The Classic Highlights (2 hours)
In just two hours, you’ll cover the city’s must-sees and get a feel for its rich history and vibe. Your guide takes you through the old town and nearby neighborhoods, sharing fun facts and hidden stories along the way. Great if you’re short on time but want to see a lot.
The Classic Highlights XL (3 hours)
This extended version gives you all the highlights of the 2-hour tour, but with a more relaxed pace. There’s more time for extra stops, questions or photos.
Want a break along the way? Just ask your guide. A short drink stop at a local café is totally possible. (Drinks are not included in the tour price.)

Traveling with fewer than 8 people?
It’s more budget-friendly to join one of our scheduled group tours. You pay per person and get to meet other fun travelers along the way. Sure, it’s a bit less personal than a private tour, but the good vibes more than make up for it. Check the schedule to see when you can hop on a group tour.
Can I cancel a private tour?
You can cancel or reschedule the tour up to 24 hours in advance.
What if it rains?
Here’s the good news: in Belgium, it only rains about 8% of the time. Most of the time, you’ll stay dry. But let’s be honest, that doesn’t help much if your group happens to get caught in the rain. If there’s a chance of rain, we’ll make sure your tour doesn’t get ruined:
- We’ll provide free disposable ponchos to help you brave the weather.
- Our guides will adjust the route to minimize how wet you become.
- You can cancel or reschedule for free up to 24 hours in advance.
- Prefer to stay off the bike? You can swap your Antwerp By Bike tour to a walking tour with Walking in Antwerp at no extra cost. If the walking tour costs less, we’ll refund the difference.
Where is the starting point for the tours?
All Antwerp by Bike bike tours start and finish at Vleminckstraat 15a, next to PRINTSHOP and close to the Groenplaats. We kindly ask to arrive 10 minutes early to choose your bike and get ready for the ride.
How can I book a private tour for fewer than 8 people?
If you book a private tour for fewer than 8 people, you’ll still pay the price for 8 participants. That’s why you need to select 8 participants during the booking process.
- For anyone who needs a bike, choose “Person – Including bikes.”
- If someone doesn’t need a bike, select “Person – Excluding bikes.”
- For groups with fewer than 8 participants, fill in the remaining spots with placeholder participants. Always select these placeholders as “Participants – Excluding bikes.”

Short on time? Choose the 2-hour tour and soak up the essentials of Zuid. Want to see and hear more? Opt for the extended 3-hour bike tour, which includes extra stops in Nieuw Zuid.
Last Saturday, we did the Highlights tour with 45 colleagues split into 3 groups. Kicking off with such a big crowd was already a blast, and major kudos to the guides — everyone had a great time!
Thanks, Team Antwerp by Bike!
