See with your own eyes how Antwerp has evolved over the past 800 years.

800 years ago, in February 1221, Antwerp received city rights from the Duke of Brabant. That heralded the beginning of our urban freedoms and rights. Trumpet blasts and drum rolls: our city was born! To celebrate this event, Antwerp by Bike together with Antwerpen à la Carte, organizes a special bike tour in 2021 about the origins of the city and 800 years of development. It is a 3-hour bike tour of the most iconic places in the city. Together with a guide, you will learn everything about Antwerp in the 13th century and how Antwerp developed into the largest city in Flanders. Together we will unravel Antwerp’s DNA!
